WELCOME ABOARD THE BRIGANTINE SCHOONER 'ONE WORLD'
Now in Panama we have done our second Canal Transit and are back in the Caribbean. One World is on a long term voyage of learning and discovery; promoting environmental awareness and cooperation in our ever changing small planet. Her crew is dedicated to living a clean and simple lifestyle with nearly a zero carbon footprint. We harness the wind and sun for virtually all our needs.
We also do a lot of things the old fashioned way aboard One World and feel that sometimes reliance on technology takes people away from experiencing the earth, sea and sky the way our ancestors understood and lived and worked with every day.
Our adventures began with the crew of dedicated people who created One World sailing her in the 2009 Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner race where she took a second place. She then sailed in the 2009 Caribbean 1500 Cruising Rally to the BVI. She was the only schooner entered and took a third place in her class.
Beginning in January 2010 we undertook a cruise through most of the Lesser Antilles islands and also cruised the coast of Venezuela, on to Bonaire and Curacao.
After spending the summer in and around the Virgin Islands, we are now in Panama after four months exploring in Panama's Perlas Islands, Mainland Ecuador and the fabulous Galapagos Islands.
